We want to introduce Alchemon, one of the outstanding companies selected to participate in the Algorand Miami Accelerator 2021. Meet Alchemon, a project with great potential in the world of NFTs – an entertaining collectible card game.
About Alchemon
Alchemon is the first blockchain-based game on Algorand incorporating NFTs (“non fungible token”) and giving them a purpose due to their utility. NFTs have been gaining popularity, but most of the time they just end up in wallets or they are resold for profit. Therefore, Alchemon seeks to bring high-quality NFT games to the blockchain with its play-to-earn model.
The main objective of the game is to acquire “Alchemon”, which are designed creatures represented on cards. Players will be able to participate in battles with their cards, and they can evolve them by winning, thus obtaining a new and stronger character, which will give you an advantage in fights.
The team of Alchemon is made of creative professionals committed to breaking into the NFT world with a high-quality and revolutionary game. The founders and team members behind “Alchemon” are: Clifford Cannon (Founder and CEO), Maxine Cannon (Founder and Creative Director), Jack Stanley (President), Emily Stanley (CFO), Hanna Wilson (Senior Developer), Forest Moher (Main Game Developer).
How does Alchemon solve the challenges within the NFT market?
The company solves the challenges by offering an entertaining and attractive game that incorporates NFTs, a rapidly expanding market. By incorporating accessible NFTs into a game with easy user access, they create a community economy (similar to Axie Infinity) that is rapidly gaining popularity, and with great potential for growth. Alchemon’s goal is to develop a blockchain-based game that users enjoy, in addition to giving NFTs a purpose (in addition to “resale value”), due to their usefulness within the game.
On the other hand, the gaming industry is also changing. With cryptocurrencies it is possible to create a complete economy. This change will end microtransactions, and players will be able to benefit from it with their money in a new paradigm for games. Algorand is the only existing blockchain that has positive characteristics in every way, including: security, scalability and low fees – benefits that Alchemon will draw on for its development.
About the users and the game
Users – who can be of all ages – buy NFTs of different characters and then will be able to import them into the game to use them in battles against an AI (artificial intelligence). Players can earn AlcheCoin by interacting with the project, even now while the video game is being developed. Players will earn tokens through battles – the more battles they win, the more tokens they acquire. Alchemon’s goal is to be the “Axie Infinity” for the Algorand blockchain.
The company’s CEO, Clifford Cannon, defines himself as an Algorand enthusiast. He has nearly a decade of experience in the tech industry, he has been a Python developer, a Yieldly participant since Day 1, and a creator of NFT on Algorand for months. Clifford is very proud of his collection, but he realized that there was so much more that could be done with NFTs. And so Alchemon was born!
